Starbucks Indonesia has launched its inaugural Signing Store in Jakarta, catering to the Deaf, hard of
hearing, and sign language communities. Emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility, the Starbucks Tata Puri
Community Store employs Deaf and hard-of-hearing baristas outfitted in the iconic green aprons.
In line with this initiative, Starbucks seeks to elevate the customer journey by introducing an e-kiosk
solution. The custom-designed e-kiosk aligns with Starbucks' aesthetic, enhancing the overall experience for
its esteemed customer base.
Subsequently, our solution introduces an innovative e-kiosk that streamlines the ordering process for
Starbucks' food and beverage offerings, ensuring a seamless and delightful customer experience. Meticulously
crafted to optimize user flow and journey, the system allows customers to place orders directly.
Simultaneously, the integrated system enables Deaf and hard-of-hearing baristas to receive orders promptly at
the coffee bar, thereby minimizing any potential limitations. This comprehensive solution aims to bridge the
gap and enhance the ordering process for customers while supporting the capabilities of the Deaf barista team.
Our innovative solution enables independent and seamless ordering of food and beverages at the Starbucks
Signing Store.
Leveraging the ESB system, a leading POS and ERP solution in the Indonesian food and beverage market, Meteor
meticulously analyzed and integrated the e-kiosk solution. By designing a robust architecture capable of
seamless communication with the ESB system's core backend, we ensured a smooth and efficient user journey,
custom-tailored to Starbucks' requirements.
The e-kiosk system is currently undergoing approval by the Starbucks Asia-Pacific Regional Office, although it has already received the green light from Starbucks Indonesia. We anticipate a successful launch and deployment of the e-kiosk at the Starbucks Signing Store Tata Puri, aimed at enhancing the customer experience and empowering the deaf and hard-of-hearing baristas. Moreover, we have received information about the expansion plans for more Starbucks Signing Stores across Indonesia, further strengthening support for the deaf community.
